Job Summary:       6 month placement as Finance Manager. Either part time or full time but minimum average 3 days per week with flexibility over month end.

Job Requirements:

  • A qualified accountant with prior experience in financial accounting and control.
  • Able to provide commercial finance support for key management decisions and have the presence to make an active contribution in discussions with senior management and influence their decisions.
  • Able to work autonomously, taking the initiative and assuming responsibility with minimal managerial direction in the context of a growth organisation.
  • Able to assess the wider picture and identify potential risks and opportunities that may be relevant to particular courses of action.
  • Articulate and a clear communicator, who can clearly represent issues and recommend solutions to a finance and non-finance audience, and can develop constructive relationships with a broad range of customers and interfaces.
  • Determined and able to persist through problems and resistance in order to deliver the required objectives.
  • Have the capability to grow with an expanding business.
  • Interested in green energy and the future of low-carbon products and services

Job Description & Responsibilities:  A broad role for a qualified accountant who is a commercially astute individual with strength in financial control and financial decision-making.  The role will have responsibility for financial reporting and control, forecasting, supporting the management team and managing the existing accounts payable staff. 

 

  • Financial accounting: maintaining all financial accounting processes, including invoicing, debt, stock, WIP, payroll, month end processes, balance sheet etc .
  • Managing and developing the existing staff.
  • Management information and reporting:
    • Supporting in providing monthly information for consolidation and Group reporting purposes.
    • Providing monthly financial reporting and variance analysis to the management team.
    • Preparing analysis for review with the General Manager and other key members of the Management Team.
  • Forecasting: preparing three year financial plan and current year latest estimates on a monthly basis.
  • Systems and controls: supporting the long term transfer of accounting systems onto SAP and developing and maintaining appropriate processes and financial controls.
  • Decision Support:
    • Supporting and challenging commercial decision making.
    • Providing day-to-day support to the General Manager and other members of the Management team.
  • Audit/tax: supporting internal and external audits, VAT and corporation tax returns in conjunction with Group Tax and the Finance Team.
  • The role requires close working with the General Manager and with Head of Finance.
